This "Concentration"-style match game for solid shapes adds a bit of a challenge and a lot more fun to learning the names and characteristics of 6 basic geometric solids. Children will match cards in 4 different formats for each shape: a drawn shape, the written name, a picture of a common object, and the number of faces & vertices. The basic shapes include cone, sphere, cylinder, pyramid, rectangular prism and cube.
Use this activity in a small group or center, or use the 24 cards by giving each child in class a card and letting them group themselves according to their shape!
