This is an excellent, thorough science unit plan on solids, liquids and gases by Lianne Gibson. It includes 10 simple lessons, complete with assessment pieces, centers activities, experiments, suggested books and materials. As much as possible the activities are hands-on and very much engage the students. It is suitable for grade 2, but could be adapted for other grades.
