The first page of this handout discusses four different types of sound patterns or sound devices that are used in poetry. The second page of this handout is an activity for students to apply what they have learned.

I have a total of 20 years teaching experience. After I received my M.Ed. from the University of Florida, I began teaching in elementary school, where I taught pull-out remedial classes for grades 2-5. Then I taught Pre-K for 5 years, before I decided to go up to Middle School, where I have been in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I am currently teaching 7th grade. I am certified in Elementary Education as well as in Middle Grades in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am certified as a Teacher Support Specialist. I have an endorsement in Reading K-12, and I also completed my Gifted and Talented Endorsement.
