Intended for Spanish 2 students studying the difference between the imperfect and preterite tenses.

Includes grading rubric with instructions for students and a separate sheet of instructions for the teacher. Also includes: worksheet for rough draft writing, tables to organize verbs, a sample worksheet filled out and a sample book that follows the filled out worksheet example. Includes extra ideas for teachers. Is in Word .doc format so teachers can edit the project to their liking and tailor it to their student's needs.

Project basics:

Students will create a ten-page children's book relating a story using preterite and imperfect verbs. Each page will have at least two complete sentences and an original image. Students must also include a title page, a dedication page, and a "new vocab" page. They must also use 5 grammar concepts within their sentences: indirect object, direct objects, comparative adjectives, diminutives, and "tener que" (although you may tailor the rubric to better fit your class's content material). Correction symbol guide included.

I currently teach Spanish 1 to grades 7-10. I taught two years of high school Spanish in the Northern Mariana Islands (levels 1 and 2) and now teach in Washington State. This upcoming year I will be teaching grades 6-8 Spanish. I served in the US Peace Corps in El Salvador from 2004-2006. I studied in Ecuador for 1 year, 2002-2003. I volunteered with Amigos de las Americas in the Dominican Republic for 2 months (2000) and then served on the training team and board of directors for the Seattle Chapter (2007-2009). I have travelled to all of the countries in Central America, along with Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, and have now been to Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Thailand. We try to visit our family in El Salvador each year for at least a few weeks.
