Spanish Day of the Dead / Dia de los Muertos Sentences Homework - Students will quickly find success translating these 12 Spanish to English sentences about the Dia de los Muertos holiday. The sentences include common Day of the Dead vocabulary such as food, water, bread of the dead, sugar skulls, grinding stone, flowers, family, cemetery, etc., the verbs gustar and encantar, plus many cognates that students will be able to translate without the use of a dictionary. The answer key is included.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I'm currently teaching 8th grade Spanish, but have taught all levels of Spanish, from kindergarten to high school at various times in the past 15 years. Every summer I teach Spanish at the local community college to grades k - 3 for the "College for Kids" program and high school students for the Upward Bound program. I have also taught 7th grade World Cultures with a focus on Hmong, Japanese, Arab and Chinese cultures. I have a BA in Spanish and International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL and an MA in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain.
