I chose to teach the future tense in part by allowing students to choose their own vocabulary words based on the future career they are considering. Each student had his/her own individual list of vocabulary for the week. I then assigned this small writing assignment in which they had to use their chosen vocabulary words and the future tense to write about thier first day on the job.

The end products were so fun to read, and students enjoyed sharing them with the class. They found it easy to imagine what will happen on the first day, and many of them got creative and thought up some very imaginative first days! Fun!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

In my brief 2-year teaching career I have taught Spanish to grades K-adult. I taught grades 1-8 for one year, and this year I teach Kindergarten Spanish, and Spanish levels 1-3 to grades 8-12. I also teach a Spanish for Nurses course to a small group of nurses in a hospital setting. I hope to gain more experience as I continue my career!
