Here's a fun little Spanish activity for the first week of school. Beginning language learners--and even the "veterans"--can get to know their classmates while practicing greetings and the Spanish alphabet. Students will need to choose a SPANISH name to use for the year. Then it's time to play SPANISH NAME BINGO! First, students use conversational skills to ask classmates their name and how to spell it . . . all in Spanish, of course! Then they can write that name on a bingo grid. Next, the teacher spells out names of various students in the class. Anyone who wrote it down can X it off of their bingo grid. Kids of all ages love having their name called, not to mention a little "bonbon" as a prize. You'll receive two versions of this activity with various sized grids appropriate for different sized classes. Simply print and go! This is a successful Week 1 activity year after year.
