Here is everything you need for a differentiated spelling program (except the words!) This download includes two sets of worksheets - one for 16 words and one for 20 words.
The bulk of this packet is made up of 42 spelling worksheets that can be used with any list. These worksheets can be chosen and assigned by you or you could allow students to choose which activities they would like to do - a Weekly Spelling Choices sheet is included for this. Another option is to laminate the pages and use them at centers.
Common Core Standards addressed are written out by grade level for easy reference. These will print out great in color or in grayscale.
This download includes the following:
-40 differentiated spelling worksheets (see free preview for more information)
-2 homework activity sheets, which include another 14 spelling activities
-1 Weekly Spelling Choice Sheet
-2 pages to use for pre and post spelling tests.
These activities are designed to be used with teacher or curriculum generated weekly spelling lists. The worksheets and activities can be used many times throughout the year and most of them will work well with any list of spelling words.
Some of the worksheets cover the basics (writing sentences, dividing into syllables, prefix/suffix, alphabetical order etc.) while others require some logic or creative thinking (scrambles, codes, patterns etc.). They will work well both in class, or as homework and are sure to be a big hit with your students.
They will work well for you if:
- You design your own spelling lessons/lists
- You want extra practice or enrichment to add to your spelling curriculum
- Your students have individual, differentiated spelling lists or you have several spelling levels.
This file actually includes 4 total documents of 48 pages each. Word files are included so that you can edit as needed:

-Spelling Activities for 16 Words (PDF Format)
-Spelling Activities for 20 Words (Word Format)
-Spelling Activities for 20 Words (PDF Format)
Zipped files should open automatically when you download them. If for some reason they don't, just email me at rachellynette@gmail.com and I will be happy to email you the documents directly.
The Free Preview shows examples of both formats, however, the thumbnails show only examples of the 16 word format.
