This is a great Spelling/Word Work/Math Station that incorporates spelling, manipulatives, and mental math.
Have students create words using Letter Tiles or by making your own using the included pdf pages of 3 sets of A-Z tiles with numbers (A-Z tiles are also shown at the top of every worksheet page for reference).
They will arrange the word using the letter tiles, practice writing it and then add or multiply its points. There is room for five words total.
I print these out on cardstock and laminate them at the beginning of the year. Then, kids can use dry erase markers, I can quickly check their work, and they can erase them for the next student to use.
Can't wait to get the game pieces. I know they will love this.

I first modeled this activity on the doc. camera - whole class. Now my students work on this activity all the time in the word work area. Thanks for making this area fun to work in!

Will have to hit garage sales for old scrabble games. The letter sheets are nice but would rather have actual tiles.

I have been teaching for the past eight years, the majority of which have been in 3rd grade. It was my favorite grade as a student and my favorite grade as a teacher :) I have also taught 2nd and 5th in both the city and now the 'burbs.
