Spring Addition Fact Activities
3 Ways to Play Newly Revised with Recording Sheets and better layout...
24 page download - Addition Facts to 18 (Subtraction Facts available in my other product listings.) Designed to be printed out back to back with plain signs of spring printing on the reverse side.
First print pages 1-2 – These directions & seller info
Next, print pages 3-11 – Addition Fact Cards
Now, place the fact sheets face up facing you in the printer paper tray.
Next, print out pages 12-20 which contain 10 different types of backings (signs of spring) that will be printed on the reverse side of each sheet.
Now, just cut each sheet on the paper cutter into 12 square cards. (OR print out backings separately and glue to plain sides of fact cards.)
Finally, print pages 21-24 – 4 optional recording sheets for students to record the facts as they solve them.
Use as simple flashcards or for the activities below:
Game 1: Select 10 pairs of facts with the same answer (20 cards). Students play Memory or Concentration, turning over 2 cards at a time and keeping them if they have the same sum. The game is over when all cards are gone. The winner is the student with the most cards. Keep cards that belong together in individual baggies.
Select the cards that are appropriate for your students. Place cards face down in a pile. Students roll a die to see how many cards they can pick. Students keep each card that they correctly solve. The game is over when all cards have been drawn. The winner is the student with the most cards.
Game 3: Select the facts that a group of students needs to practice. Students line up the cards as though they are on a path. This creates a “follow the path” type game. Each student has a game token. Students take turns rolling a number die, moving that number of spaces and solving the fact that is on the space where the student lands.
