This literacy packet is sure to help you and your students celebrate spring! The packet includes an original story and poem for guided reading, shared reading, or a read aloud; twelve student worksheets (5 for the story, 5 for the poem, and 2 for both the story and poem together) that help students practice a variety of primary reading and writing skills (verbs, adjectives, a-b-c order, event sequence, text connections, writing a new ending, rhyming words, long and short vowel sounds). The packet also includes teacher mini-lesson plans. These are short teacher lesson plans to introduce and explain the story and poem as well as the student worksheets. There is an answer key, a tracking chart to monitor student worksheet completion, and two bulletin board signs to show good work. Thank you. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Mark has thirty-four years of teaching experience in the elementary school setting. He has served as a classroom teacher, a Reading Recovery teacher, and a reading interventionist. He currently serves as a language arts interventionist in the Round Rock Independent School District located in Round Rock, Texas.
