This packet includes 7 standards-based math activities for a kindergarten classroom with a Springtime theme!!
On one page, students count sets and match the corresponding numeral.
On another page, students extend AB, ABB, and ABC patterns using clip art associated with spring.
On the next two pages, students create graphs based on sets of springtime objects. On one of the graphing pages, the sets are already sorted; on the other, students must sort the objects themselves before graphing. These two worksheets can be used as a progression, or can be used to differentiate instruction in your classroom. There is also a graph analysis page that can be used with either graph (or both).
On the next page, students choose the bigger number in each box; this is great practice for the AimsWeb Quantity Discrimination task.
On the last page, students write the missing number in a sequence of three numbers, such as 1 2 __, or 4 ___ 6, or ___ 7 8. This is wonderful practice for the AimsWeb Missing Number task.
This set would make nice morning work, classwork, or homework for any week in spring!! They could also be used as part of a math center or math station. These activities will allow you to celebrate spring, while still working on important math standards.
This was a really complete and fun packet for us to try. Really well designed and my son had so much fun with it. He keeps asking for tomorrow's worksheet!
