This packet contains 30 cut & paste math journal prompts that are designed to encourage your students to stretch their mathematical thinking! The spring themed prompts center around bunnies, eggs, chicks, birds, bugs, plants/gardens, and Earth Day! There are a variety of skills covered: addition, subtraction, creating and solving word problems, number combinations, fair shares, comparing numbers, building number patterns, coin combinations, fair trades, fractions (1/2 & 1/4) and more! Many of the prompts promote higher order thinking and multiple solutions.
Each page has multiple copies of the same prompt to help make printing easier for you! Simply cut out the prompts and pass them out to your students to glue into their math journals!

Hi Anna,
I love, love, love your math journals. I use them every day! As it gets closer to the end of the year in second grade, I am finding them too easy for most of my students(or course not all!). I was wondering if you have any that are geared more towards common core for second grade, or just more challenging? Love your store!!!
Hey there! I only have the set that is in my store, but a lot of second grade teachers have used them with positive feedback! Thanks for your interest in my products!

I have been teaching for 5 years- 2 in 2nd grade and 3 in 1st grade. I'm currently teaching first grade and LOVE it!! I have the best job in the world:)
