Spring into Math Story Problems Addition includes addition story problems with a Spring season theme. The problems are aligned to the first grade Common Core Standards. The problems are differentiated thru the use of different problem types and the use of varying numbers. Because of this, the worksheets can be used with other grade levels depending on student levels.
The problem types include:
Add To: Result Unknown
Add To: Change Unknown
Four story problems are included for each problem type. Four different sets of numbers are included for each story problem. Students show their work, record a number sentence, and record an answer on each worksheet. An answer key is included.
I hand out all four sets of numbers to students for each problem. Students who need a challenge can work all the way to the largest numbers. Students at a beginning level of understanding work with the smaller numbers.
The worksheets work well for small group instruction. Pick and choose the problem types and numbers you wish to use.
The completed worksheets are great for math strategy discussions.
