This is a fun St. Patrick's Day activity in which students design a cookie they'd like to eat. To do this, students choose from toppings such as: vanilla or chocolate frosting, mini chocolate or white chocolate chips, M&Ms or sprinkles. Each toppping costs a given amount of money. Students must pick the toppings that they prefer, then add to find the total of all the toppings. The object is to get as close to $1.00 as possible. After the students design their cookie and have their work checked, they are able to create their own cookie and eat it using real cookies and toppings.

This activity can be done as a whole group or in math centers.

It's a fun way to combine math and snack time, too!
