This is a St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun game to reinforce basic word wall word (sight word) recognition. Students pick game pieces out of a container and must read the words. If a student cannot read the word they chose a partner may help them read it. Students must also write the words they know and the words they do not know. This allows the teacher to collect the worksheets at the end of the activity and have a record of which words students are still struggling with. To differentiate instruction you can have students write sentences using the words they pick from the container on the worksheet provided.
The words used in this activity are a list of basic Kindergarten sight words. There are blank shamrocks included so you can print and make your own cards based on your word wall words. If you would like me to make typed cards with your words please send me an email with the information and I will make this game for you to match your words.

Worked as a one-on-one for a 1st grader with special needs; and the past 5 years I have been teaching kindergarten.
