(14 pages) If you are going to begin a study of chemistry, you need to start where chemistry really began ..... in the core of STARS!
Stars convert (fuse) the simplest element (H) into Helium. Massive stars convert Helium into heavier and heavier elements. And super massive stars expire in a cataclysmic explosion that mixes elements in every conceivable combination to produce all the naturally occurring elements shown in the periodic table. So - if you're going to study CHEMISTRY - start at the beginning - STARS!
We have students work in pairs to cut out the twelve (12) different panels of our gigantic (XXL) Periodic Chart of the Elements. Solids, liquids, gases, metals, nonmetals, et.al. can be color coded. We included all 92 naturally occurring elements ( w/ Tc & Pm).
Cutting and pasting will take about 45 minutes. Double that for coloring. Fun!
(This chart is the same as our Chemical Elements Chart 1XXL, except that symbols are outlined, and element names are solid - vice versa for Chart 1XXL)
