This lesson helps student¢ï¿½ï¿½s focus of the best parts of Louisiana (or other state) by designing a shirt to "sell to the public". They get to think about all the things positive about their state and put that image(s) of a shirt. They must think about how well the shirt would sell, where they would sell it, how much would it cost, and who their target audience would be.
I am so-o-o-o glad I can help. It is not often that a middle school history teacher from deep south Louisiana gets to hear this. I may have been a Teacher of the Year once, a middle school teacher for more than 25 years, and a tech junkie forever, but it is still nice to here such wonderful things at least once or twice. Glad I could help! - Greg

I am at an AVID campus, and I'm always looking for things like this to get my students to personalize and show what they learn in a creative way. Love the idea and I'll definitely use it. (I teach Texas history--we're neighbors)
Ask Louisiana history teacher a question. They will receive an automated email and will return to answer you as soon as possible.

I have taught middle school history for the past 25 years. I have a webpage devoted to the subject of Louisiana history which I update every week. I love middle school and don't desire to go up OR down over the next few years.
