This States of Matter Unit is organized around a series of 9 experiments using the scientific method to explore changes to the States of Matter using heating, cooling and force. Students must read a question, make a hypothesis, record their observations and write a conclusion. The full download includes step-by-step procedures on how to conduct the experiment.
Also included is a content page listing the concept being taught in each experiment and all materials needed and templates for sorting materials into the 3 states and for noting their characteristic. There is also a story idea for writing about the 3 States of Matter and a list of 4 You-Tube links for kid-friendly videos and songs about the States of Matter.
