Doing research papers with your students will be organized and SO easy with these themed sticky note planning pages! My first graders were guided to find the most important information by the prompts provided in each box--all they needed to do was write the information they found on a sticky note and place it over that box! When editing, I could simply remove sticky notes that wouldn't work in the paper, and/or have students fix and rewrite on a new sticky note! The students copied their sticky note information in order, creating well-written and well-organized final papers!
This pack includes themed research planning pages for the following topics:
*animals
*plants
*planets
*insects
*weather
{I have also included planning pages that do not have prompts or questions, so that you can write in your own if needed.}
There is an additional "general topics" planning page that will work for ANY research topic.
To complete the packet, there is a source page, about the author page, and 2 pages of lined paper--with a space for the title and a frame at the end for an illustration and caption.

Sarah,
My first grade students are SUPER excited to begin this project! I was wondering about how long did this research project take your class/students? What was a good time frame for this project?
It took us about a week--some little friends needed a few extra days, but most were able to finish within a week! Hope this helps! I hope you will enjoy the project!

Sarah,
I've just discovered TpT and love the style of your pages and the clip art. What program do you use and where do you get the clip art?
Thanks

Thank you! In many of my products I use my own drawings, but I LOVE Melonheadz clip art, Fancy Dog Studio borders, and I have purchased several commercial clip art licenses from Lettering Delights--they have great lettering options! I also love KPM Doodles clip art--she sells on Teacher's Notebook. I use PowerPoint to create my packets! Thanks again, I hope this helps!

Hello! I just purchased these and was unable to print them. Everytime I try to print it onely the Thanks page prints. I did select 'all' when printing. Is there something I can do to print this?
Thanks!
Hey there! I have no idea why this could be happening! Can you see the whole document on your computer? Or, are you only seeing the last page? It may be an issue with your printer?
Could you possibly add a page that would feature appropriate questions but allow the purchaser to add the name of his/her state at the top? Many of us are required to include a unit on the state where the school is located. This would be GREAT! In fact, if you can pull this one off, I will do it the upcoming week!
