This is the best writing center ever and much needed in my classroom. There are 4 anchor charts the describe characters, setting, problem and solution. 33 character cards, 39 setting cards, make your own solution cards, and 30 problem cards. Students are to pull one of each and place them under the header cards. Then write their own solution on the provided cards. Next the students write their own story and illustrate. There are even teacher and student directions included so this center is totally independent. All categories are color coded so the student knows which category is which and it is explained with pictures for those early readers!
Ask The Lesson Plan Diva a question. They will receive an automated email and will return to answer you as soon as possible.

Common core standards 1.w.2, 1.w.3, and 1.w.6 are covered using this writing center. Students build upon their own experiences and knowledge to build stories using sequential order an relevance. Students are to retell and summarize stories using appropriate details.
