This packet was developed to support the Story Elements and Retelling Power Point also for sell. Although the materials included here are more effective with the power point, they can be used on their own.
The packet includes a transparency (handout) that discusses where the story elements are located in a retelling. There are Pocket Chart Retelling Cards for guided practice. There are 2 retelling graphic organizers: One for an emergent level, and the other for an early fluent level.
What is great is that you can present the same material, and then decide what students need the emergent paper and what students need the early fluent paper. There are the same picture cues on all of materials as well as the 29-slide power point.
I have used these materials for several years. It has proven to be very successful with my students.

This packet is best used in combination with the Story Elements and Retelling Power Point that clarifies how the components of this packet work together. The Power Point shows students a modeled and guided practice using the visual and verbal cues found in the packet.
