Story Elements Posters for Beginning Readers
Pre-k and K
These seasonal posters can be used each month when teaching story elements. I print them out and then make them into a poster using a poster maker. If your school does not have a poster maker, you can take them to any office store and they will make them into posters.
Directions:

Enlarge into a poster using a poster maker
Depending on your story for that day or week, copy or make the characters for each story. I just photo copy the pictures from the story and laminate them ( I only use them in my classroom and I do not resell them) for example: I recently did the story, �¢ï¿½ï¿½Snow Friends.�¢ï¿½ï¿½ I photo copied the three characters, a snow scene, a snowman, and any other pictures relating to the problem and the solution.
Once you are finished reading the story and have discussed what the elements of the story are�¢ï¿½�¦then have the students place the characters, setting, problem and solution pictures on the large poster.
My students really love doing this activity and the visuals really help them to understand the story element concepts.
You can also use the sheets as a take home activity or a seat activity, Just provide a sheet with the story elements, characters Scene etc�¢ï¿½�¦along with the smaller version of the poster.
