I am so excited to have this resource ready! My students LOVE pretending to stretch out bubblegum from their mouth and stretch a word at the same time, to help them spell it.
Teaching students to 'stretch it out like bubblegum' is a great fun way to help them understand the process of
1. saying a word
2. 'stretching' the sounds out as they say the word again
3. listening for the sounds
4. writing them down in order as they heard them
This packet includes:
1. Cover Page
2-3. Contents Descriptions/Explanations/Tips
5-6. Strategy Posters (2 skin tone choices)
7-8. 'Stretch it Out' Word Mats for learning centers
9-12. Picture Cards to use with the Word Mats in centers or whole group lesson
13-15. Students "Stretch it Out Like Bubblegum" Spelling/Word Attempt books
16-17. 'Stretch it Out' Desk Mats featuring alphabet & picture cues
The pages in this file will help you introduce the stratgey, display the strategy in the classroom, use the stratgey in your class writing lessons and prepare a literacy center for making/writing words.
A variety of children with differing skin tones have been used in teh pictures.
This file is for a single teacher or parent for home or classroom use only.

Thanks for your answer and response. It makes sense. I have given you a favourable rating as such. Smiles. Laura
Hi,
Purchased the Stretch It Out Like Bubblegum. I was wondering if it is suppose to have some of the pictures cut off--e.g. top of the children's heads and/or sides? If not, could you fix it. I have not rated your product yet.
Thanks,
Laura Summers
Hi - Yes it is supposed to be like that. The design takes into account that the bubblegum needs to be as large as possible, to create as much room for the children to write as possible - (like zooming in on the important part). I will add some more that have the whole face (not cut off) upon my next revision of this product.
