This activity is great to use at the start of the school year. It is composed of two different handouts that each have 20 different criteria like "knows how to skateboard," "traveled this summer," and "likes to watch comedies." Next to each criteria is a blank space where students must get another student's autograph. Students should only sign next to criteria that they fulifill or have fullfilled. The directions on the handout read as follows:
"Walk around the classroom and find people that fit the given categories below. Have them write their first and last names next to the category that applies to them. Each person can sign up to 2 times. You may write your own name 2 times. Your teacher cannot sign under any category."
It is a word 2003 document, so the whole thing can be edited. There are 2 handouts, both with the same set of instructions at the top, and both with 20 different sets of criteria.
It's perfect for the first few days of school but can be used any time throughout the year as a fill-in activity, as a "get to know each other" activity, or maybe even as a substitute activity.
