This program is designed to give Social Studies students an opportunity to participate in local government. It will allow students to organize a political party, be nominated and campaign for political office and if elected, they will spend a day working with their adult counterpart in state, county and township government. The project has students creating posters, commercials and a summative writing that you can choose what you have time for. Rubrics and requirements are included. Use this project as an introduction or conclusion for your local government, elections or political party units. I use this the first week of May every year and our government students end a week of campaigning/mudslinging against their classmates with mock elections. We have over 25 local government positions working with our school and we add more each year. Buy this project and see what your school should be doing to bring community and school closer than ever. Make kids experience the curriculum in this project that covers elections, primaries, parties, and local government. A list of the government offices that participate is attached. Project includes a timeline. Contact with any questions.
