Looking for a way to track student reading fluency? Try this chart. I use this in addition to DIBELS tracking. Students in my room each receive a reading passage weekly. They do a cold read on it Monday and have a partner or myself time them. Throughout the week they practice it and then on Friday, we time again. I mark the week in the date column, then use 2 different colors to chart their Monday time and Friday times on the same line. It's neat for student's to see how practice can improve their time. It's also a great reference at conferences and IST/RTI/CSE. I like to use a variety of fluency passages. I have use Readinga-z.com passages and silly poems and speeches. I try to keep it mixed up and them use a couple students a week to demonstrate their reading for the class.

I am a blended special education teacher and have taught at variety of grade levels. Most of my materials are designed to work for a variety of grade levels as I have often worked with more than one grade level at a time.
