This student report template guides children through the research process as they write informatively about one state. Through its open-ended design, the template will work for any of the 50 states.
In the report, students will sketch and write to:
- locate and label the state on a map of the U.S.
- identify the capital city, two additional cities, and three "points of interest" (such as lakes, tourist attractions, famous buildings, etc.)
- list the state's bird, flower, tree, and governor (including a "Fun Fact" about each)
- draw and color the state's flag
- describe the tourism and agriculture of the state
- demonstrate simple map skills (directions and symbols)
- provide their information sources (bibliography)

I was so excited to find this, because I wanted to do state reports and *knew* there had to be something like this out there so I wouldn't need to reinvent the wheel-- but it was harder to find a good one than I thought! Thanks!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
