Having some spare student rosters on hand comes in handy A LOT. There are some things you just don't really need to enter into a rank book. Sometimes you need to make a quick note about each student in your class. This student roster template has a small column where you can write each students first name and last initial, and a longer space to the left to make notes. Unlike the preview, the full sized file has enough lines for 25 students.
Here are some times that an extra, blank student roster has come in handy:
* Who has returned their progress report/report card/field trip permission slips/other notices?
* The front office has called and you can't find your attendance sheet .
* How is each student getting home (especially important to ask on the first day)?
* What writing/research topic has each student chosen?
* Which students work well together for partner work?
* Which students struggled with a specific math concept previously and will need additional support to complete the lesson today?
* Which students have you conferred with in reading/writing already this week?
* And lots more!
Keep a stack of these rosters in a file folder by your desk, or on a clipboard so you can have them readily available whenever the need arises.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a fourth grade teacher at the same school for 7 years, where I teach presently. I taught third grade in a charter school for 3 years. Prior to my full time teaching career I was a paraprofessional for a teacher of the deaf for grades 1 and 2 for a year, and a preschool teacher for 2 years.
