If vocabulary is integral to your curriculum, this project is the quintessential answer. Student groups take over the responsibility for finding words (I've always used whatever novel we are reading as the resource) which are foreign to them, then teach them to the class. This packet provides a detailed description of the project from start to finish, including: methodical suggestions for student delivery of the chosen words, examples of review strategies and an easy checklist for teacher evaluation. Also included are information-gathering sheets which can be left for substitutes so that the project (which spans about 25 minutes of three class periods) can be carried on in the event of teacher absence.
