** EDITABLE!!!!* This is my absolute favorite management tool, and it has significantly cut down on the time it takes to prepare for a substitute, especially on days when I am basically keeling over! Having two surgeries this past year forced me into a new system, and I am so happy it did. I no longer panic if I wake up and I'm sick. I no longer have to drive 30 minutes to my school to add details to my existing plans and explain procedures before slumping over the steering wheel on the way home. I can breathe a sigh of relief because this system is already in place! I highly recommend keeping emergency plans in your sub tub and talking to you students about where they are found! It's a life-saver!
* Note, this is a zip file! It has the original pdf file and an updated & editable file for your convenience! :) Happy Teaching!
How fun is this to just look at and fill in!!!! Great idea and so easy to just have in a sub tub with some emergency lesson plans!!!! Thanks for the layout!!!

I purchased and downloaded the subtub file, however it says the file is corrupted and I cannot open it. Is there another way you can get this to me? I really want to incorporate it next year! Thank you so much!
The pdf is included in the zip file. You computer automatically unzips the file so that you can have access to the folder. The folder contains an editable Powerpoint file, and it also contains an pdf file that cannot be edited. I offer it as a zip file, because my followers wanted an editable file, so I created a Powerpoint file that protected images to offer that version to the people who were asking for it. I realize, however that not everyone has Powerpoint, so I also wanted to offer it as a pdf. The zip file just means that I put it into a folder and condensed it so that I could share both files with you. It's not a separate program.

Could you tell me if there is a faster way to delete the "Type Here" on all of the lines? I'm just doing it one line at a time, but thought there might be an easier/faster way. I have a Mac.
I WISH I could tell you an easier way, but you can only do it one line at a time. I had to adapt this file from an old Pages file to a Powerpoint file, and to make it editable, I had to create all of those text boxes. Sorry for the inconvenience! It was the only way I could adapt my Sub Tub to make it adaptable. :)

Is there a page or spot on a page for students who take medications or have health alerts?
Hi! The zip file that you purchased includes two files. It has a pdf included, which is not editable, and a Powerpoint file that can be edited through text boxes. You most likely tried to edit the pdf. You will need to edit the Powerpoint file instead. Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for this wonderful resource, unfortunately I purchased the subtub and was unable to open. Adobe gives me a message of the file being damaged or unsupported. I have the Adobe version and I have a Mac, not sure what else to do.
begarba80@gmail.com
Hi! I am so sorry to hear that! I thought I had the newest Adobe, but it turns out that I didn't. I literally am updating RIGHT NOW... as I type this! :) You may want to double-check just in case. If that doesn't work or isn't the case, you may want to put in a help ticket with TpT. I think the site is experiencing growing pains as we're getting bigger and bigger. If that doesn't work, please email me at amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com.

Thanks SOOOO much for adding the editable version! I bought this last and filled everything out by hand (not a huge biggy) but this is going to make next year a quick and neater job!
Hi, since it's in a zip file, I included the file as a pdf (for people who may not have PowerPoint) which is uneditable... AND I included the editable version. Open up the PowerPoint file... not the pdf. I created a TON of text boxes so you can type inside of them. Just delete the ones you don't need. Hope that helps! :) It's the one that says "Editable Sub Tub". The other file just says "SubTubSubstituteBinderResources".

Hi Amanda,
I was able to edit my name on the substitute binder sheet but not able to change it on the sub tub sheet. Is there a way to change the name on the sub tub sheet? Thanks!
The large Sub Tub sheet on page one is just my cover page. That's why it has my name on it. :) I don't even use that page at all! Ha! Page two is the page I slip into the front of my binder, and it sounds like you were able to add your name to that page. The page I use to attach to my Sub Tub is page 28. I don't put my name in it at all, but if you want to, you can simply add a text box on top of the page (graphics), and you can type it in. I just trim around the rectangle, laminate it, and attach it to my tub! Sorry for the slow response! Life has been CRAZY lately!

I purchased your subtub and I am not able to unzip it. I have a mac computer. I am not able to use the 7zip program you recommend. What can I do? After reading all the wonderful feedback, I am anxious to open this up.
Maybe something happened with the download. Please email me, and I'll try to send it to you. Hopefully you'll be able to open it that way! amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com. I will email you tomorrow morning!
Hmmm... I wish I had a definitive answer. I would contact the TpT Support Team. They are really good at getting back to you really quickly. Since this feature is brand new, I am not really sure what to do. If you don't get anywhere with this, shoot an email my way, and we'll work around it. amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com
Hi, Tonya! TpT has actually just launched a new feature, so it will do all of the hard work for us! If you go to the Sub Tub product page, you'll see that there's a new button that says, "Buy Multiple Licenses". If you click it, you only purchase one file at the regular price. The others are discounted for basically half off. :) Hope this helps! You simply type in the number of additional licenses. The first file is full price and the rest are half-price. So, if you want 10, you need to buy one for full price and type in 9 for the discounted price! Thanks for your interest! I hope this file works really well for your staff.
Hi Amanda!
I just put together my substitute binder and the only thing I was hoping for that I have with some other binder packs I purchased is a label for the side of a binder. Right now I'm using a 1/2 inch binder and was wondering if you'd be willing to make a side label I could slip in. If not I understand, I'm sure you are very busy. I'm just a nut about things matching so wanted to ask first!!
Hello! Thank you so much. :) I am so glad you are happy with your purchase! That could be something I can add later, but honestly I am in survival mode at the moment. Ha! I have no idea what dimensions I would need to make it, so I will need to do some homework before I can create it. I'll add it at some point in time. I just can't guarantee when. Sorry!!!!
Hi, I purchased this for a teacher give away. How many copies am I able to make. I am an administrator and want to make a sub book for each staff-20 staff. If I purchase it once can I make as many copies as I want???
Hi, Tonya! At this time, this file is for single-classroom use only. Please email me though. I would be willing to work out a deal with you to help you save money... instead of buying this file 20 times. :) amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com

I can't believe I just paid $5.00 for something I can't even type in. Are you going to allow those who purchased it to obtain it without purchasing again once editable?
I JUST learned how to make it editable & still lock the graphics to avoid breaking any terms of use with my clipart companies. Last week, in fact. I am in the process of creating the file with editable boxes you can type in. You won't be able to move clip art around or change the main text... but where the lines are... you will be able to type in your information. I may also add a few extra pages for easier customization. If you have specific needs, please email me. (amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com) I am hoping to have this done in 1-2 weeks. It takes quite a bit of time, and I have to go out of town this weekend. Once it is editable, you will be able to upload the new copy from your downloads without purchasing the file again. :) I'll send out a mass message on TpT when it's up!
It is not editable right now. It was made two years ago, before I learned how to protect the clip art and still allow you to type. I am in the process of creating an editable version, but since I am starting school this week, I don't know how much time I will have to work on it. It should be finished in a week or two though. I'll send out a note to my followers when I wrap it up! I'd like to be able to type in it too. :)

What types of jobs are you using in your classroom? I was wondering since it seems like you have enough for all of your children. I have about 9, but I would really love to add more. We rotate everyday, but some kids don't have anything to do for a couple of weeks. Thanks!
Hi! This post explains how I organize my classroom jobs... and it has an accompanying freebie file too. :) If you have any further questions, let me know! http://oneextradegree.blogspot.com/2011/06/classroom-jobs-freebie.html

I teach 7th grade math and science. Is this a worthwhile packet for me to purchase or is it more suitable for the younger grades?
If you look at the preview, it shows pretty much every single page in the packet. That should help you decide if it will work for you or not. :) I know that everyone's different... but I would THINK it would still be suitable.

I love the font you used. Can you tell me what it is? Thanks!
Thanks. If you're referring to the colorful font, it's called "Giddy Gingerbread" by Lettering Delights. :) The other regular font is called "Hypewriter".

Hi! I am really interested in your Sub Tub and Binder! Is this document editable? Thanks!
Hi! It is not editable. I cannot sell something that is editable with the clip art that is included in the file. It is against the clip art company's terms of use. Sorry! :)

This isn't a question, but a compliment. I absolutely love that you allow us to download previews! It really has made many decisions toward yes when I can see more of the product. I have many of your products in my wish list so I can buy them over the summer as I get paid. Just wanted you to know that your download previews really work (and are going to break my bank account)!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a sweet comment, Annemarie. :) I really appreciate it!

Would you be willing to make your Sub Tub available in Word? I would like to be able to edit since we do a 4 day rotation and I don't teach every subject.
Hi! My sub tub is, unfortunately, uneditable. I created it with Pages on my old computer that I no longer have. Sorry for the inconvenience! I don't teach every subject... and we have an eight day rotation... and I still use the same template. I just write the number/day next to each special, etc.
In general though, for 99% of sellers, The Terms of Use of purchased clip art and fonts forbid us from sharing any non-pdf files. Pdf files have locked graphics, therefore you cannot copy the graphic and place it into a new document. It's something we're all bound to. Sorry again!
Hi, I just bought your sub tub. I was wondering if you had a way that I could type my information into the sheets? The sheets are so cute and typed info would look so much better....
Hi! I'm sorry! I wish I could help everyone out with that, but I can't for two reasons. For one thing, my old computer died, and I can no longer use my old program on my new computer. They are incompatible, and I can't email out Pages files. They won't attach anyway. Secondly, sending out an editable version would be against Scrappin' Doodles Terms of Use. I am only legally permitted to share pdf files with locked images. Sorry! :)

Would you be willing to make this a word document so that I can change some parts? I teach 5th grade in a departmentalized setting, so some of it doesn't work for me. We are also on a Day 1-4 rotation instead of each day of the week.

I purchased this but unable to download.
Can you help?
If you email me, I will send it to you. You may want to see if your Adobe Reader is up to date first though. That may resolve the problem.

Is this something that can only be used once, or can be used if you are out multipile times? I haven't purchased it yet, but I am very interested...Thanks! :)
Hi Breagan! This is more of an organizational tool than a lesson plan. It helps keep all of the information for a substitute in one place. It is not editable, so I just want to let you know ahead of time that it is a pdf. There are lots of questions about that, so I want to let you know that right off of the bat! I have used it over and over and over again. It definitely helps prepare for subs in a snap! You don't have to worry about the management piece, because everything is already done. Then, you can just focus on plans. I typically throw some emergency lessons and materials in a tub with it for last minute flu bugs and such! Let me know if you have more questions! :)

Our area of the country does not have tornados or practice for them. Could you remove that from the forms and add the new pages to the download? thank you for your time and consideration.
I have already created an extra page at the end of the download after my little note for earthquakes. If you need something else, please let me know. I'd be happy to add another page to the end of the file. It would take a considerable amount of time to rearrange the pages, and I'm switching school districts right now, so I don't really have the luxury of time. However, I would be happy to tack something onto the end for you, and then you can stick it in where the tornado page would be. Let me know if you need something besides the earthquake drill page, because that has already been added. :) Thanks!

Is it possible for you to post the cover sheet without your name on it?
Hi! Unfortunately, because I create all of my documents in Pages, which is a Mac word processing program, I have to save everything as a pdf. This also protects me from other people editing/selling my products as their own, which sadly does happen way too much on the web. You will have to write in all of your information. Even though I have the original, I still print out blank templates and write in pencil, because things sometimes change during the year, and I like to be able to easily adapt it without printing out a whole different sheet of paper. :) I'm sorry that the document isn't editable, but I hope that it helps you prepare for substitutes and last minute absences. :) I LOVE MINE...

Hi! I love this idea and would love to use it. Would you be able to email it to me so that I can type in it. My husband has a Mac computer and I know that you said that you used the Pages program to create it. The only question I have is does the program come on the Mac computers or do you need to purchase and install it? Can't wait to get started!
Hi Jenni! I sent an email back to you about this, but just in case you get this first, here's the situation. I cannot email my Pages documents at ALL. I also can't upload it to any sites like Google Docs or Scribd. Unfortunately, Pages appears to be blacklisted from their uploading software, probably because it's not as common as .doc or .pdf files. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I have no way of getting that file to you. I hand-write all of my information into the pages with pencil. Personally, I like this, even though I have the original and could type it all in if I wanted to. I like being able to have a really flexible, easily adaptable document that I only have to print once. Ink is outrageous! :) Wish I could help you out, but as I mentioned in my email, I tried three different email accounts and two different hosting sites, and it didn't work. Sorry!

Dumb question.....If this document is a pdf, how can I type in my info? Or am I supposed to print it and write in my my?
That's not a dumb question! :) Unfortunately, with pdf files, you cannot type in your information. You'll need to print it out and write in your information. I wrote all of my information in with a pencil on my personal copy. I prefer to use pencil, because so much can change in a year, and I like the Sub Tub to be a fluid document. {As a sidenote, I use Pages to create all of my documents on my Mac. As a result, I have to save all of my documents as pdf files. I hope it's not too much of an inconvenience!)
I use Pages (a program on my MacBook) to create my documents. If you have the same program, I'd be happy to email it to you. You can email me at amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com. Otherwise, I don't know that you'd be able to open it unless it's in pdf.

Hi there,
I just tried to download your sub tub resources, and it says the file is corrupted :(
Hmmm, I haven't had anyone else contact me, so I'm not sure what happened! If you send an email to amanda.nickerson84@gmail.com, I'll send a copy to you via email! :)
