When you hold up 4 fingers, you don't count each finger. You subitize. This skill helps kids recognize how many items there are at a glance without counting each item every time.
Includes cards 1-10 for the following (cards come with and without dot border):
Dice (1-6)
Tallies
Fingers
Ten's frame
Dominos
Random Dots
Also includes the following:
Numerals
Number Words

These are wonderful. I am going to print them out tomorrow and have them laminated this week so my kiddos can start using them. They will be very beneficial. Thank you!
I love the idea of using these on the math wall! Very cool!

I have a thing for black with white poka dots. These make excellent review or quick assessment toold.
The ability to subitize is vital to early numeracy. These cards not only demonstrated quantity with dots and tallys and fingers, digits and written number words were also a welcome addition to create an entire package of what I consider to be effective early number sense flashcards that anyone can use in the classroom.

I may be looking at it wrong, but on the part with the dots there is two cards with 4 and no cards with 8. Please let me know if I am looking at this wrong!! Thanks!
Currently, I do not include a list of activities with these flash cards, but they are good to use as flash cards. In small groups I like to hold up a card and let the two or three kids "compete" to read the card first (winner keeps the card). Or you could play a matching game with the cards face down, looking to match numbers. They love all of these.

Hey Olivida,
I love these and have been wanting to make some so I am so happy that you did for me! I was wondering if it would be too much work for you to make these with something different than the polka dots. I think it may be too much visually for some kids to see the difference in the polka dots on the boarder and the dots to count. I have a few with vision issues as well as focusing and I would like to try them without the dots. If it is too much trouble, don't worry about it. I just thought I would ask. I love everything you are doing! I wish I was in your class! Daphne
