Semantic Absurdities target many language skills at once....vocabulary, inferencing, and problem solving. Use this card game to work on these skills with your students! To play, each student takes turns drawing a card from the pile, identifying the absurdity, and making the sentence logical. But watch out...there are sting rays ready to sting, and they cause you to lose all your cards. Whoever has the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.
You can also use the cards as drill or a part of another activity. You can spend more time discussing each sentence in more depth to target critical thinking, such as why the statement can't it be true.
Included are Instructions & 52 cards (47 semantic absurdities, 5 penalty cards)
This is also available as a part of my Under the Sea Language Packet with 2 other language activities!
****Please do not purchase this if you buy the Under the Sea Language Packet, it is included in that download!!!!****
