I give this handouts to my students on the first day of school.

It is a good guide for discussion of good study habits and what is expected of the fifth graders academically. We go over this document together and discuss each part. This is one way that I start to set the tone for the entire year. I emphasize good study habits, punctuality and a good attitude in this handout.

The ideas in this document may be applicable to 4th and 6th graders, too.
