Don't say goodbye to your students on the last day empty handed!
That is what I had done for several years before I created this Summer Adventure Pack.
This is a 17 page packet:
Page 1 - Cover (students put their name on backpack)
Page 2 - Check off list
Page 3 - Bubbles
Page 4 - Nature Box
Page 5 - Ice Cream in a Bag
Page 6-7 - Wild About Wind
Page 8 - Stargazing
Page 9 - Take a Field Trip
Page 10-11 - Bugs, Bugs, Bugs
Page 12 - Plant Pals
Page 13-14 - Chalking the Sidewalks
Page 15 - Plant and Animal Books
Page 16 - Tornado in a Bottle
Page 17 - Water Games
There are numerous ways you could use this packet, but this is what I do.
I get the packet ready by putting it in a booklet that I then pass out and introduce on the last day of school. I encourage the students to complete as much as possible with their families. As they complete the adventures, they check them off, mark date completed, and have parents initial next to the date. When they return to school in the Fall, they can bring this back completed and I will give them a gift certificate to our Fall Book Fair.
However, this packet can be used as simply as handing out the last day and encourage them to complete as much as they can. Easy as that!
Even if each of your students completed just one of the activities, that is one hour LESS of television they watched over the summer!
There are 12 activity themes...ideally one for each week of summer vacation. But there is no timeline and students can complete as they wish, in any order and at any time.

I had a parent give me a big hug after I used this for my Special Needs summer program. I love the activities and the ability to teach multiple levels at the same time!

I am a special education teacher and I gave my students activity packs for their parents to help them stay on track over the summer but I also wanted to have some fun activities for the kids and parents to do together. I loved this activity pack- thanks!

Great packet of fun activities for families. A nice addition to just the usual practice.
