Common Core Game. This is a fun game to help students memorize their 2nd grade sight words. Each time a student reads a sight word correctly, they turn over as many sunshines as they want. The sunshines have points on them. They get to keep all points they earn. However, if they get a 0 they lose all points including from previous rounds! Game ends when time is up or when children score a predetermined amount of points.
Words included are: always, around, because, been, before, best, both, buy, call, cold, does, don't, fast, first, five, found, gave, goes, green, its, made, many, off, or, pull, read, right, sing, sleep, tell, their, these, those, upon, us, use, very, wash, which, why, wish, work, would, write, your

I have taught 3 years in Kindergarten and 5 years in 2nd grade. I am currently substituting in all Elementary Grades K-6 and activity classes. I completed a month like sub job in a 3rd/4th grade combined. I also did a short term in 5th grade. It was nice to have independent children!
