This is a presentation/game for identifying 3d shapes based on their nets.
The game is designed to have 2 students stand by the screen with fly swatters (I made my own out of meter sticks and construction paper). There are a number of nets on the screen and the students are given the name of a shape and they must find the correct net to "swat".
If you have any ideas for improvements, please let me know and I'll be happy to update the file. One possibility I played around with was jumbling up the nets in-between rounds. I'm still not sure if that would be better or worse given the different ability levels in my classes.
My pleasure! This one was actually something I made at the request of the other 8th grade math teachers at my school. The idea should work with other topics as well but I haven't had time to get working on any of them, heh.
The original had sound effects but I don't know if they made their way into this one. I put this up as an afterthought since I haven't used it for a few years, but you're right that the concept could be used for lots of different topics... I'll have to see what I can come up with.
