This lesson plan this what I use for reading tier time at the beginning of the year when we are learing the syllable types. You will find open, closed, silent e and vowel team activities in this unit. There is also a list of suggested uses. Your kids will be able to use cooperative learning structures with the cards. You can create a bulletin board or pocket chart sort. There are 3 word banks (worksheets) for individual or team use.

I'm sorry, but for $5.00, I was expecting more- more words on the lists, more activities for students to do. Also, I didn't understand the silent e poster. I thought the rule was that the e could jump back over one consonant to let the vowel say its name. So I'm not sure what the 'jump back three' means.

I am sorry you feel this way about the syllable sort unit. At our school we count back three from the end of the word, this is the way our reading specialist teaches her class too. The e is 1, consonant is 2 and the vowel is 3. There are several ways to teach this rule. I wanted to make it the way our specialist teaches it so that it could could immediately be used for tier time for my class. Your feedback is definitely different than the rest and my kiddos loved it. When I teach it again this fall, I will see if I can add to it!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
