This PowerPoint lesson introduces the basic uses of TENER idioms used in first-year Spanish. Beginning with an overview of the conjugations, students move quickly into example sentences using TENER in sentences. On each slide, students are given the definition and an example sentence. After all terms have been introduced, the PowerPoint continues with 15 multiple choice, interactive slides. If you have eInstruction clickers or a SmartBoard, this PowerPoint can be used to create an interactive lesson. If you do not have access to these technologies, students can track their answers with pen and paper.

This powerpoint was perfect! Exactly what I was looking for to introduce the verb tener and the idiomatic expressions. The students liked it, and I made a quick worksheet to go with it so they could take notes while watching. A great teaching tool!

I am currently teaching at an international school in Suzhou, China. After teaching in St Louis, Missouri, I was ready for a change of pace and began exploring the world of international teaching. I am currently Head of World Languages and we have just opened World Languages to all Middle School students. I have experience teaching grades K - 12 and have enjoyed every one! Currently I am teaching MYP Spanish B to Grades 6 - 10 and IBDP Spanish to Grades 11 - 12. In addition to IB training, I am also trained in AP methodology.
