The Egypt Game by Snyder: Solving a mystery adds to the interest students have for this novel. Drawing on this interest, three to five focus questions are included for each chapter except for the three chapters where there is a lesson using paraphrasing and summarizing.
Specially designed charts help students keep track of facts and analyze events as the mystery unfolds.
I have divided the novel into four parts at natural breaks. I do not include answers to these questions.
Each Part has a short quiz - ANSWER KEY INCLUDED for each of the four quizzes. There is no all-novel test.
Included too is a detailed lesson on identifying nouns in sentences, with teacher board notes and student handouts. Use of this lesson is optional and the remainder of the unit is not dependent on it.
Also included are writing assignments and vocabulary worksheets. Two word searches are included too.
Several activities are coordinated with particular chapters in the book, and include student handouts.
