This TPR story works well after the teaching of the classroom objects and some conjugations. It is about Charles, a bad student who creates problems for Marie. The visuals and the ridiculousness of the story keep the students engaged. Drawings are provided.
I will put the PowerPoint "Le Mauvais Eleve" on TPT for free. The 49 slide PowerPoint provides visuals for the pre-teaching section of the lesson during which students act out the words.To access the PowerPoint, click here PowerPoint
The story provides good comprehensible input because it models language in context, solidifies the meaning of verbs and vocabulary and helps students begin to write meaningful sentences. Students have many opportunities to hear, read and write the vocabulary as they act out the words, then the story, and listen to the story while looking at the corresponding drawings (provided). They are exposed to the language again and manipulate it by doing the following:
~answering true/false sentences
~completing sentences
~answering questions
~putting events in order
~listening to and reading another story using the same vocabulary and, finally
~writing their own story using the vocabulary.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught French and Spanish for 27 years in California. I have created and presented many workshops in my district, outside the district and for my school for foreign-language teachers, beginning and veteran teachers of all disciplines on classroom management, lesson-planning, TPR story-telling, and the teaching of grammar in an immersion classroom. For two years I served as a Consulting Teacher in my district helping new teachers with curriculum, lesson planning and classroom management.
