This is a great writing activity to use with your students as you progress through the novel The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I chose the title Talk is Tuff because in the novel one of the characters talks about being 'tuff'. There are 12 journal prompts, one for each chapter of the novel. You can make this into a booklet for the students, and they can turn in the completed journal booklet at the end of reading the novel. The prompts are student friendly and help the students practice writing through journals.

You're welcome! I have found it makes keeping up with journals for the novel The Outsiders much easier, and it helps meet some of those writing objectives with Common Core.
