This binder is AMAZING!! As a first year teacher, guided reading can be a lot to organize. With this binder, you have everything to get started and some really helpful hints. Chalk up the 22 bucks! It is worth it.
This is an amazing resource, worth the price! I look forward to using it with my students next year, I am glad I have the summer to put it together to prepare! Thank you and so cute, too!
Yay! Great to hear!! We are so happy that we could help! :) We hope your students
enjoy it! :) Thanks!!!

This resource provided me with a framework and a place to start. I love that it is so complete and includes all the aspects of guided reading. Thank you!

I am looking for a resource to help be better implement Guided Reading in my 2nd grade room. I have never been very strong in this area. Would this binder be what I am needing? Also does it go along with any reading program?? Also will it go along with Common Core standards??
Hello! Thanks so much for checking out our TpT store!!!
Yes, this resource (or the Guided Reading Guru) will help you implement guided reading with your second graders- especially since you are working to improve upon this. The main focus of the teacher reading binder, is exactly what it says, you will be organizing all the materials into a binder. It goes along with any reading program. We developed this file before common core was implemented, so no, it does not correlate. However, it is our mission this summer to take a look at how the CCSS directly correlate with our binder. I hope that helps! Have a great (rest!) of the school year!

Hello,
Hello,
I am an Australian primary school teacher who is looking for inspiration and ideas to get my guided reading groups running more effectively and being more engaging. I was looking at your site and found the guided reading guru pack to purchase however then I saw the teacher reading binder ultimate resource... Which one would I be better off buying? The reading binder does that include the guided reading guru resources? Is this correct? If I purchase the ultimate binder one, will I need to purchase additional add on parts or is this currently the updated and current version?
Hi Jenna-
Thanks for your message!
Great question!!!
My first thought..if you understand guided reading, you know what you are doing with it, and just want some engaging ideas, then this will be for you:
http://lessonplansos.blogspot.com/2013/04/i-mustache-you-question.html
TPT link:
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/I-Mustache-You-a-Question-About-Guided-Reading
However, if you are looking for how to learn more about guided reading, then you would be more interested in the Guided Reading Guru resource! Yes, the Teacher Reading Binder includes the Guided Reading Guru file and also includes some goodies about organizing groups (bulletin board ideas/pictures), binder organization, and lots of pictures!
I hope that helps!

Hi!
I am an Australian teacher and I would need to change the American spelling to Aussie spelling.
Any chance you can create an 'editable' resource? You can change the PDF to a Microsoft Word format quite easily as well.
This would save you the time to manually change the spelling as you mentioned in a response to another customer.
Hello,
I understand your concern. Using colorful materials is more visually appealing for the teachers and kids using them. You can just change the print preferences to "gray scale" or "black and white" to not use color ink. Hope that helps!
Melissa :)
I would really love to buy this resource. Are the activities suitable for Grade 1?
Are you having any sales in the coming days??
Thank you so much
Kristen
Hi!
Thanks for visiting our TpT store. Yes, I do think that your students will enjoy this resource. This file provides a resource for pretty much any elementary teacher who wants more support for their reading instruction. It might help to read some of the feedback that customers left.
Thanks so much, Kristen!

Hello,
We use Microsoft Word and Powerpoint to create the templates for our lessons. We purchase commercial use clip art to insert into word and powerpoint.
Hope that helps!

Hi, I have just been looking at the Venn Diagram part of the product (which I absolutely adore). However, I just noticed that a couple of the "job descriptions" are missing the word "to" or "be". Could this get fixed please? The ones that need to be fixed are:
"It is my job select the book that we will reading during our guided reading group" and
"It is my job have all the necessary materials ready". Thanks in advance!
Oh my goodness!!!! Thank you so much for letting us know about the typo!!! I could have sworn that I already fixed that, but when I opened the file on the TpT site, the typo is still there!!! I just finished uploading the revised file and the TpT message said that it might take up to an hour to have the revised file available for a redownload. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks so much!
Melissa :)
P.S. Thanks so much for the compliment! :)

I love this! I want to download it, however, I teach kindergarten. Are your sheets adaptable for kindergarten?
Hello Tamara,
Thanks so much for visiting our TpT store! We appreciate it! To be honest, I would not necessarily recommend this for a kindergarten teacher. Although much of this file is a resource for an elementary teacher, there are some activities for your students to complete. I think those might be too advanced for your kinder kiddos. However, if you are looking to just create a binder to organize your reading groups and have a resource for how to teach guided reading, then you might find this very helpful!!! Does that help??
THanks!
Melissa :)
Hi there! I love, love your blog! I would love to be first grade stalking buddies!!! Stop by my TpT Store and let me know what you think..I am still kind of new and would love fellow first grade followers and feedback!
VERY excited about purchasing this item soon! I have a teacher friend who let me see her guru binder and I am just waiting to get some money to buy and print this life saving tpt item! (I want to print it ALL in color and get it "plastic sleeved"! ;) Question-do your students have a binder/folder that they use to keep their sheets/activities? If yes, what is the system on that? If no, where do those papers go? i.e. the "this book was just right/too easy/too hard" log or the sheet they fill out after reading the book or even the predicting or visualizing activity sheets?
Thanks!
Hi-
I have the students use a notebook where they glue these sheets inside. If
you wanted to use a binder could each child bring one from home? Or, maybe you could add it to your school supply list at the beginning on the year. Just an FYI...we are having a sale tomorrow and Tuesday and the binder will be 28% off!! :)
Take care, Nicole :)
Hi,
I purchased the file and the Independent Reading Activities did not load correctly. There are black lines on many of the pages. Do you have any suggestions for me, or are sections blacked out on purpose?
Hi Ellen!
We are sorry to hear you are having some trouble, we know you are excited to use your file! No, to answer your question, there should not be any sections that are blackened out. Are you using a Mac by any chance? If so, these newer PDFs can't be seen properly with Preview. To fix this, you need to download the latest version of Adobe Reader (Adobe Reader X) and use that to open it (a Mac will automatically open it with Preview if you don't say otherwise). So, in your Finder Window, highlight the file and then click on the tool in the top of the Finder Window that looks like a sprocket then choose Open With and then Other and then select Adobe Reader.
Let me know if you still have a problem with the file, or if you do not have a Mac and are seeing a different message.
Thanks!

Hello I was thinking about purchasing this binder. I just wanted to know if it is geared towards fifth grade. Thanks
Thank you for visiting our store! Did you first start by reading the comments for this file? I know that when I am on the fence about buying a file on TpT, I always look to see what the buyers say and that sometimes helps me make my decision!
I can help answer your question more if you can be a bit more specific about what you are looking for- only guided reading? the cover pages for the binder? Let me know exactly what you are looking for and then I can give you a better answer!
THanks!

I just downloaded this resource but am having difficulty opening it. I have tried downloading the zip file you suggested as well as making sure my adobe reader was up to date and it is still telling me the file is corrupt. Any help is much appreciated.
Hello!
Nicole and I make several purchases from our favorite sellers on TpT! We have also had this happen to us- we get the same "file is corrupt" message occasionally. It usually is because there is an issue on TpT's end, not with our actual file. Can you please try to download the file again and let me know if it works? It usually works for us if we try in a few days.
Thanks!!

Melissa,
Meredith Snowden here. I sent you a message from Australia last week regarding the z and s change. I have been through the file to find the pages. Basically it is any word where there has been a z used at the end in stead of an s. Words that I found in the files were: organiser, summariser, visualise, synthesise. I have only worried about the ones that are sheets I would use with the students. Pages for me I have not worried about. PDF 2 page 37. PDF 4 page 6, 8, 10. PDF 5 page 19. PDF 6 page 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 18. PDF 9 page 3. Thanks so much in advance. Once again I have to say how great your work is. Thankyou so much.
Hello Meredith,
I am so sorry, but I am not going to be able to help you with changing it to the Australian Spelling. I thought it would only be one page that would need to be changed, but seems like there are many pages that need to be changed. We don't have any spelling programs that would change it automatically, which would make it quicker.
If you would like a refund for the cost of the file, please let me know. Or, you can contact Teachers Pay Teachers and they will issue you a refund. (Just explain the issue about the spelling.)
http://support.teacherspayteachers.com/
(click on this link and then "open a ticket")
We would also be happy to send you an additional file of ours (maybe the Thanksgiving one?) for the inconvenience!!!
I am so sorry- thank you for understanding!

Hello Monica,
Thank you for visiting our shop! I am so sorry, but no, the binder is not available in Spanish. We will look into purchasing a product that will allow us to translate the content though...thank you for asking!

Hi,
I have just recently discovered TPT and think that perhaps some of the materials that I have developed over the years might be of help to others. My question is simply "Have you found this site to be a good and easy to use avenue for selling your products?" Thanks for your response.
Hello,
Thanks for your message. I love TpT and I think all the other sellers will say the same thing! Once you sign up as a seller, click on the "seller's forum" section. You will find a wealth of information to get you started. You can also post your specific questions there.
Best of luck to you!

Hello, Is this reader binder for ANY book or is it specific for certain books?
Hello Laura,
Thanks for visiting our TpT store! This is a resource for elementary teachers, who are looking to learn how to effectively implement and teach guided reading. It also has several lessons for your students, along with information about anecdotal recordings, conferencing, and grouping students. It is not geared towards any book- it is mainly a resource for teachers. I hope that helps!!

I love, love, love ALL your products!!!! : ) My question is about the Teacher Reading Binder. I already purchased Guided Reading Guru, Rockin' Reading Workshop, and Guided Reading activities with Pizzazz. Is there any way that I can get the extras that are in the teacher reading binder without having to purchase it since I seem to have many of the things in it already or am I wrong aboutnot having much of it? Is ther lots I don't have? I want ALL you all make and share! lol Y'all are that great!!!!! Thanks for your help. : ) Cindy cja1st@gmail.com
Hello Cindy,
First..thank you for your kind words! They mean a lot to us! :)
I think there is a very easy way to answer your question!
We have a Teacher Reading Binder "ADD ON," which is specifically for people who already have the guided reading guru and want the other components. Please see the link below. (The GR with Pizzazz, Rockin' Reading Workshop are NOT part of this file, so you dont have to worry about duplicating anything.)
I hope that helps to answer your question!
Take care, Cindy!

Hello,
I am a reading teacher. I was wondering if this package comes with informal record forms, such as anecdotal records. We have to submit an evidence binder and we'd like to have an organized system to keep track of our student's progress. Thanks!
Hello!
Thank you for visiting our TpT store! We are flattered to have a reading teacher considering a purchase from our store! Yes, there is a small portion of this binder that focuses on running records and reading conferences. However, it is not a large part of the binder.
I hope this clarifies your question!

Hi Melissa. I was wondering if the files for your Reading Binder are "editable." I teach French, and would need to translate/possible adapt any material/posters that will be posted/handed out to students.
Thanks
Hello Amanda,
I am so sorry, but no this file is not editable. We do not have permission from all of the graphic artists (that are in that resource) to sell it as an editable file. So sorry about that!!!!

Hi Melissa! I adore your Teacher Reading Binder! I am a new teacher and I have been feeling utterly overwhelmed at the prospect of trying to create yet another organization system in my classroom. Your binder is here to save the day!!!! I do have one question: you mentioned RTI but I am new to it. How do you use this notebook to address RTI?
Hello Chelsey!
Thanks for the message. To be honest, this file does not directly help implement/support any RTI instruction. There is an RTI cover page for the binder cover pages. (My district uses a specific form that I include in my reading binder, which is not included in the file.) I do use the binder to help organize all my reading conference notes and all my guided reading anecdotal records- this info. is included in the file.
I hope that helps!!!

Your packet looks very interesting...is it related directly to the state common core standards?
Hello,
Thank you for visiting our TpT store. Our district has only adopted the math common core standards. I am not as familiar with the language arts common core standards and would have to study them before I could answer your question and how the binder applies to them. Thank you for the idea and we will look into this further.
Thanks!!

Why is this more expensive than a book that was published by a compamy?
Hello,
We price all of our lessons based on how many hours it takes us to create them. We spent months researching and creating this unit and then another couple of months revising this unit over the summer. If you are looking for cheaper items, you may want to check out this link:

Why does the grade level list not include kindergarten? Will this work with kinder? Thank you.
Hi-
The binder will definitely help you organize your reading groups, however, the student ideas included might be too high for your students. If you are just looking for the organizational part of it, check out our Become a Guided Reading Guru file. Thanks for visiting our store!
Nicole :)
I am trying to put my binder together, and I made the mistake of printing everything out at once so everything is mixed up. I'm finding that some of my pages can't be right, and I think it might be because I'm working on a MAC. Some of them have a heading, but then the rest of the page is blank with random black lines all over it. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks!
Hi, Mandy-

I am still confused as to what all this includes...
Does this include help in planning and carrying out guided reading groups? Does it give ideas on what to do in my reading groups? How about planning sheets?
THANKS so much!!
Hello Sunshine!
Thanks for visiting our tpt store. Let me see if I can help to clarify some things for you. If you are interested in making a binder to organize of all of your guided reading information (groups, anecdotal notes, reading conferences), in addition to learning more about guided reading, then you would be interested in our Teacher Reading Binder. If you are just wanting to learn more about guided reading, then I would recommend our Guided Reading Guru. The guru (which is also included in the Teacher Reading Binder) includes information about grouping students, the procedues and expectations of the students/teacher in GR, and a bulletin board display. We do not have actual lessons for guided reading in either of our resources. I hope that helps to clarify some things. Please let me know if you have any questions!

I am looking to purchase this file, but I am wondering if the pages are full color like they are in the pictures, or are they black and white, and it is up to me to get fun paper to print them on? Thanks for your help! THis is a great resource. :)
Hello!
Thank you for visiting our TpT store! The pages are exactly as they appear in the file preview. If the the pages are in color in the preview, then they are in color when you purchase and download the file. There is a mix of black/white colored worksheets (which are mainly teacher resources pages) and then colorful pages (which are mainly for student resources/lessons.)
I hope that helps!!

I am discouraged with my purchase because there is very little to use in a kindergarten classroom. I assumed I could use most of this with my new kinder class. Am I missing something or can you give me some ideas on how to use this with kindergarten? Thank you.
Hello,
I can understand why you would be discouraged with that file if you teach kindergarten. The lessons are geared towards first grade and up. However, I do think that you should still be able to benefit from creating the binder and using it to document all of your guided reading groups, reading conferences and anecdotal notes. That part of the binder should be applicable to any grade level. Can you email us at teachers@lessonplansos.com so that we can personally email you? Please reference this message on TpT in your email!
Thanks!
Melissa :)
Hello Donna,
Thank you for your purchase! I am sorry for the delay in receiving your file! To answer your question, no, you do not get the through the mail. Instead, it is an instant download, as you as you make the payment. All you need to do is log into TpT and then click on the "my purchases" tab. Everything that you bought on TpT (from all sellers) are under this button. After you make a payment, you will be automatically redirected to the TpT site. If you made this purchase some time ago, you just click on the "my purchases" tab.

I purchased the reading binder and could not find the instructional reading level "cover" page. I made my own from the blank template. Am I missing something? Also wanted to add that the word "to" is missing on two of the cards for the Venn diagram activity. BTW-Thanks for a great boost to my guided reading groups! I am really happy with my purchase!
Hello!
Thanks for your message! There should be a cover page for "guided reading groups" and that is the one that I use for my instructional guided reading groups. Thank you so much for letting us know about the missing word. We will be sure to revise that once we have the opportunity this weekend. We are so happy you are pleased with your purchase! Thank you for your kind words!

Hi! I'm looking at improving my use of small reading groups. Flexible grouping is a big focus right now from admin. Would this book help me do better with groups, and does it offer anything about flexible groups? Thank you!
Hi Amy,
Sorry we took a while to respond to your message- we noticed that it got "lost" among the other responses! :) I know exactly what you mean about the importance of working with small groups!!!
This resources focuses specifically on guided reading and how to form and teach reading groups. There is a small component that talks about flexible grouping, but it is a small part of the file.
I hope that helps!
Melissa :)
Hello!
Thanks for visiting our store! The teacher reading binder focuses on reading- specifically guided reading. The writing file focuses on lessons with the six traits of writing- ideas, organization, voice, word choice, and conventions. I hope that helps!!!

Hi! I will be teaching fifth grade reading this year and I am looking for help on how to set up guided reading groups and keep up with RTI documentation. Your binder looks like it could help me. I notice you have several, which do you recommend for 5th grade??
Hello Aracele,
If you are interested in making a reading binder and learning how to implement guided reading, you will want the Teacher Reading Binder. If you just want information about how to implement guided reading groups with your students, then I would recommend the guided reading guru file.

I just downloaded this today, and I have several pages that are incomplete or there are black slashes throughout all of the information. Is there any way I can get a different copy of this? I have around 20 or more pages that are messed up.
Hello,
Thank you for your purchase! Do you have a mac by chance? If so, please follow these directions and let us know if they work for you.
If you purchased a PDF and it is blurry after you open it, solve it this way: on a MAC or PC, install the latest version of ADOBE READER. Then, open the file with ADOBE READER. That's it. On a MAC, make sure to "Open With" ADOBE READER and NOT Preview. If it's still blurry, that's because you are still opening it with Preview!
If you do not have a mac, please email us and reference this email message.
Thanks so much!

Unfortunately my file won't download the error message says..."Adobe Reader could not open 'TeacherReadingBinderUltimateResourceforanyTeacher-1.zip' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." Is this a common problem or do you know how I can access the file?
Hi Debbie,
Thank you very much for posting about what worked for you. I am sure it will help others and I will keep this message for reference!
Thank you very much! :)
