Use these cards to help your students build fluency telling time with analog clocks. This set works with time to five minutes only. A student answer sheet and answer key are included so students can check their work. There is also a Challenge Card which can be used with any other card and asks students to tell what the time will be in twenty minutes.

These cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.

Addresses the following Common Core Standard:

2.MD.7. Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.

3.MD.1. Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.

Most of my teaching experience is with gifted and talented students in grades 2-4, though I have worked with children of all ages in general education classrooms as well. A few years ago I stopped teaching in order to write nonfiction children's books full time. Gradually over the last couple of years, my career has switched from writing to creating teaching materials here on Teacher Pay Teacher.
