This is a great first day or first week of school activity for students entering the third grade. Give it for homework or take class to the lab to research these questions about thirds (i.e. Who was the third President of the U.S.?) It's a fun way to introduce students to research as these 10 questions and two bonuses cover various genres of the curriculum and beyond. It is a kind of scavenger hunt and students can work in pairs or groups. There is also an answer key provided.
