This is a simple, print and use set of cards (4). The purpose of these cards, are to allow each student to individually dedicate their academic performance to the people that have supported them and their learning throughout the year (parents, grandparents, teachers, etc).
When I introduced these cards to my students, we discuss what it means to dedicate something to someone, my student's personal "motivation factor" really seemed to soar!
The blank box can be filled with your choice of several things....
Here are just a few ideas:
-have the student draw a picture of the person they are dedicating their performance to
-trim and place an actual picture in the box
-students can write a short note there
-if your class uses the multiple intelligences, they can draw an icon in the box, representing their special kind of "smart"
-the student can take the card home and have someone special write them an encouraging note in the box
