Kindergarten and first grade students can strengthen their beginning reading and writing skills as they enjoy this cute emergent reader. This book contains a repetitive text pattern, focuses on the sight word "my" and is a great way to promote early reading success.
Three versions are included in this download (See thumbnails for samples of each version.):
A. An emergent reader mini-book to print and fold. Great for guided reading.
B. An emergent reader with one sight word on each page left out for students to write themselves. Great for use in a literacy station.
C. A larger version in which the students can copy the text.
Having three versions is very helpful. Your "Thanksgiving Emergent Reader - I Am Thankful" was the featured "Free Lesson of the Day" at The Best of Teacher Entrepreseurs."

We are being pressed to come up with differentiated lessons. I am having such trouble in this area -- this idea is AWESOME and helps me to think outside the box in other subject areas.... Thanks so much !!!!!

I am very disappointed in my download. I loved the assessment and I had planned on using it before Thanksgiving, however, the smiles (yes) have small smiles in the wrong places (p1&3). Please send a better copy to my e-mail: anna.morris@breathitt.kyschools.us I plan on holding my rating for 1 week. Thank you.
