Patterning is a crucial early math skill. Students need to be able to recognize, identify, and extend patterns. This PowerPoint allows students to practice extending patterns using Thanksgiving clip art. This PowerPoint is designed to be used with a projector with the whole group; students name the pictures and then extend the pattern. As students extend the pattern, the appropriate pictures fly in; then students identify the pattern using letters (AB, AAB, ABB, or ABC) as the letters fly in. Your students will be patterning experts in no time!! This PowerPoint is a great addition to any November calendar time, math meeting, or circle time.
