Thanksgiving is on its way! One of my favorite ways to cover this bit of history is by integrating Social Studies and Language Arts. This way, my students are learning some important history while practicing various reading and writing skills.
This unit includes a variety of activities that can be used to teach your students about the Mayflower, the Pilgrims, and The First Thanksgiving. A little bit of life science has been included too! A few years ago I decided to include turkeys in my Thanksgiving unit; the kids love learning about that bird! This set also includes a variety of writing pages that you could use for narrative writing in your classroom.
