HI Deanna!!
I'm so impressed with the units you create!!! A true talent! My question is in regard to the turkey glyph. Do you have the children do all the cutting out of the pieces or do you do that prior to the activity?? It's alot of cutting for one teacher to do, but also seems like alot of cutting for the kids.What do you suggest?

Hi Jennifer, I send the turkey feathers home with a parent helper and I cut the rest. I staple about 5 sheets of paper together so that I can cut out multiples at one time. You could also just give the kids rectangles for the feathers and have them cut off all 4 corners and rounding out the points. Hope that helps! I have had parents tell me the turkey was the centerpiece for their Thanksgiving dinner so he is worth it. :)

1. It sounds like you are either opening with an old version of Adobe Reader or if you have a Mac, you may be opening it with a Mac program called "Preview" and not even know it.
Preview has documented problems opening modern Adobe files. If you have a Mac, try opening Adobe Reader first (rather than just double clicking on the file), then open the file within
Adobe Reader.
You may also choose to set the default reader to Adobe Reader by following the instructions below.

Hi Deanna,
First, thanks for all your hard work and great ideas. I am downloading the Thanksgiving Math and Literacy Activities and several pages have black streaks on then when scrolling through the pages. I used a couple other computers and they all show the same image.

Is there any way to get the black streak removed? The page content is displaying nothing usable on the pages. Off-hand, I know one of the pages is the turkey glyph page, and there are several other pages, too.
